What is roller hockey?
Roller Hockey is a dynamic and high-scoring 4-on-4 sport that shares similarities with ice hockey but differs in key ways: there's no body checking, no offsides, and no icing. This fast-paced game emphasizes puck control, stick handling, and passing. As a thrilling and cost-effective alternative to ice hockey, Roller Hockey offers players of all ages and skill levels the chance to engage in a sport that combines enjoyment, skill development, and competition.
When is the roller season?
Our Roller season runs from April to late June/Early July!
Can I Play with my friends?
Yes! Requests will only be accepted if they are mutual. For example, if Player A requests to play with Player B, Player B must also request to play with Player A for the friend request to be approved.
What Equipment is required?
- Helmet, Stick and Gloves
- Shin Pads and Elbow Pads
- Rollerblades (See us at the rink)
- Girdle (See us at the rink)
- Padded Shirt (See us at the rink)
- Roller Pants (Come with Youth registration, available to purchase as well)
- Jersey (Provided with registration)

Is there a difference between wheels?
Yes! We recommend coming to see us for wheels at Maple Grove Arena between April and August.
The type of wheels you need depends on several variables: weight, playing surface, price, desired softness, and more. We are happy to walk you through the process, as it may be overwhelming!
Where can I get quality Rollerblades?
Contact us for all your Roller Hockey equipment needs. We stock various brands and models of skates, such as Alkali, Tour, Bauer, and Mission.
What are padded shirts and girdles?
Roller Hockey Padded Shirts feature a soft, stretchable mesh with breathable padding.
Roller Hockey Girdles are constructed of a lightweight Hex-Flex moulded dual-density foam. To help protect against direct impacts from pucks and sticks. It also comes with a jock!
What surface is Roller Hockey Played on?
Roller Hockey is traditionally played on a plastic sports court; it can also be played on polished concrete.
